Two-Day Training
May 4-5th, 2023
Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-5pm
10555 Montgomery Blvd. NE Bldg 2,
Albuquerque, New Mexico 87111
This two-day training will explore your relationship with mindfulness and introduce the role of mindfulness in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT is a mindfulness-based modality that helps support folks with dysregulation to build a life worth living. The role of mindfulness in DBT is multi-faceted; mindfulness is incorporated in every mode of treatment - individual therapy, skills sessions, phone coaching, and consultation team. We will practice a variety of mindfulness practices together, identify how mindfulness supports behavioral change, and address common barriers for ourselves and clients. You will gain everything you need to support your clients in mindfulness practice and create your own personal practice!
Objectives:
Participants will learn DBT mindfulness skills including states of mind and what/how skills.
Participants will learn how to effectively observe and describe their experience and shape clients in doing the same.
Participants will learn how to use observe and describe in individual therapy to help promote treatment goals.
Participants will learn a variety of DBT mindfulness practices that support observing, describing, participating, nonjudgmental stance, one-mindfulness, and effectiveness.
Participants will identify ways to attune and customize mindfulness to themselves and their clients.
This training is 14 CEUs and meets the DBT Certification requirement for DBT training and formal mindfulness instruction for the mindfulness requirement.
