traumas, and internal struggles.  

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a well-researched, evidenced-based modality to support an increase in your ability to regulate intense emotions and decrease life-threatening behaviors. It has also been proven effective in managing various difficulties, including disordered eating, interpersonal conflicts, and substance abuse. 

DBT is rooted in Mindfulness to increase your capacity to experience joy and life in the present. Mindfulness is incorporated into all aspects of DBT treatment and is
fundamental to achieving a life worth living.

Who Do We Serve?

Adolescents
We specialize in serving high-risk, multi-issue, young adolescents between the ages of 12 and 18

Families
We teach families effective communication skills to stabilize dysregulated family systems

Adults
We help adults to increase emotion regulation skills and decrease suicidality, self-injury, and addiction.

Community
We provide a wide range of  training and continuing education to both clients and clinicians.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based treatment that was developed by Marcia Linehan, PhD. While initially developed to treat Borderline Personality Disorder, it is currently viewed as the most effective treatment for issues with emotion regulation that result in lethal behaviors, including suicidality, self-harming, impulsivity, and interpersonal conflict.  

DBT orients around the idea of Acceptance and Change existing at the same time. This is known as the “D” in DBT,  Dialectics. As a foundational principle, it teaches the individual how to exist in a place where options, choices, and alternative behaviors are always available. Through acquiring skills, individuals will learn how to interrupt problem behaviors, identify new possibilities, and create a map for emerging from high-octane emotional experiences. 

Adherent DBT is a year-long commitment including individual DBT sessions, a Skills group, Coaching (to support new behavior and interrupt problem behavior), and a treatment Team for DBT clinicians.
